Ce champ explore la manière dont l'art-thérapie et les thérapies expressives peuvent aider les personnes souffrant de scrupulosité (forme religieuse ou morale du TOC), de trauma religieux, de blessure morale, de honte spirituelle ou de conflits liés à la foi. Il s'intéresse aux mécanismes de symbolisation, d'expression émotionnelle, de reconstruction identitaire et de guérison après des expériences religieuses traumatiques ou des croyances rigides. La scrupulosité est considérée comme un sous-type du TOC centré sur les préoccupations religieuses ou morales.
